To accelerate the scientific innovation processes and to improve barrier-free scientific communication and free access to quality-assured scientific information, the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) is committed to "Open Access". Already since 2016, the institute has its own "Open Access" guideline. Therefore, we recommend our scientists to publish research results in "Open Access" publication media. In addition, the institute offers training courses on the topics of "Open Access" and "FAIR and Open Data", in particular to its young scientists. With the funding requested here, we are pursuing the fundamental goal of optimizing the already established structures for recording the number and costs of "Open Access" publications and of further digitizing the processes to increase their transparency. We want to continue to provide IPB researchers with secure financial support for “Open Access” publishing and hence further increase the proportion of “Open Access” publications in the total number of publications.
