Project Details
Cell-specific activation of glucocorticoids resolves inflammatory arthritis and prevents bone resorption (B06)
Subject Area
Endocrinology, Diabetology, Metabolism
Term
since 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 501752319
Project B06 will study the cell-specific responses to glucocorticoids in order to elucidate the molecular mechanism underlying glucocorticoid-induced modulation of inflammation and bone degradation. Based on preliminary data, B06 hypothesize that cell-specific modulation of glucocorticoid signaling in immune and stromal cells is sufficient to reduce inflammation while avoiding undesired effects. The B06 project aims to develop a proof-of-concept for the cell-specific effects of glucocorticoids through genetic loss- and gain-of function mouse models, envisioning a therapeutic cell-specific delivery of glucocorticoids or modulators of downstream signaling.
