Project Details
Decisive factors to induce cell death via oxeiptosis and the relationship to other forms of regulated cell death (B04)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 471011418
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) can affect and drive cell death decisions for a number of modalities, including apoptosis, necroptosis and ferroptosis. This project will investigate the decisions between a novel form of ROS-regulated cell death, termed oxeiptosis, and other cell death modalities. Specifically, it will address how oxidation of the sensory protein KEAP1 differentially regulates the activation of downstream effectors, and subsequently the decision of cell death induction by oxeiptosis, apoptosis, necroptosis and ferroptosis.
