In the transfer project T05, a repair process chain for damaged rolling bearings will be developed according to the tailored forming approach. Therefore, deposition welding is used in order to repair the near-surface damage on the raceway of the bearings. Afterwards, the welded bearings are machined, heat-treated and finally the surface layer will be formed incrementally with a deep-rolling tool. The forming is used for the induction of residual compressive stresses and therefore to increase the service life, which is investigated on bearing test rigs after the final process step. The process chain is accompanied by material analyses in order to evaluate the process steps and demonstrators.
