Project Details
A population-based approach to diet-microbiota interactions that drive liver diseases (A11*)

Nutrients are the perfect mediators within the gut-liver axis. Project A11 studies the triangle of interaction between diet, microbiome and liver health. Using large multi-omics datasets and selected animal experiments, we will explore the association of nutritional changes on liver disease development, which we hypothesise might be driven by changes in gut microbiota. This comprehensive set of studies will provide data for one or more therapeutic targets for utilising the gut-liver axis as a preventative tool.
