Project Details
Nonlinear wave interaction in quantum nanomaterials (B06*)
Subject Area
Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 398816777
The project (Chernysehva/Eilenberger) focuses on the nonlinear dynamics in bidirectional fiber lasers, investigating the complex interaction dynamics between counter-propagating beams, mediated by nonlinear materials, such as saturable absorbers, quantum emitters, or active media. It relies on the core competences of the new young PIs Maria Chernysheva in fiber lasers, and Falk Eilenberger in nonlinear materials and quantum optics. The aim is to investigate pulse propagation and pulse interaction and, particularly, collision dynamics in nonlinear nanomaterials (2D materials) down to the atomic scale.
