The main object of this transfer project is the investigation of a cryogenic minimum quantity lubrication to improve the surface morphology of turned Cr-Ni steels. The aim is to enable a resource-efficient, industrially relevant integration of the surface conditioning into the machining process. The cooling lubrication strategy is designed by means of tribological investigations and experimental machining tests. Through a holistic characterization alongside the process chain, recommendations for surface conditioning will be derived within the context of an industrial environment.
