Project Details
400 MHz NMR console with probe and autosampler
Subject Area
Molecular Chemistry
Term
Funded in 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 519222440
The presented application is submitted together with two other applications of NMR instruments, including the acquisition of a new 600 MHz instrument with nitrogen-cooled cryo-probe and autosampler, and the renewal of a NMR console (300 MHz instrument) including a probe and autosampler. The acquisitions of the new NMR instrument as well as the modernization of existing equipment (replacements) will meet the current requirements for NMR service, which has been significantly increased due to the new appointments of the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy at Leipzig University, Prof. Dr. Tanja Gulder (Institute for Organic Chemistry) and Prof. Dr. Jens Meiler (Institute for Drug Development). These appointments have been accompanied by establishing new research activities at the participating institutes and, consequently, by a general increase in the demand for NMR service and measurements. Renewal of the currently available, outdated equipment together with the acquisition of a more sensitive high-field instrument including a cryo-probe and autosampler is thus strongly required. The bundled procurement of several NMR instruments enables a significant cost reduction due to discounted package prices offered by manufacturers in such cases.
