Considering the influence of the strain rate in the design of processes with mechanical impact based on process signature components (T04*)

Subject Area Primary Shaping and Reshaping Technology, Additive Manufacturing
Term since 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 223500200

Subproject T04 aims to take the strain rate into account in the Process Signature-based implementation of the findings in the industrial environment. The predictability of residual stress states already achieved for deep rolling at low rolling speeds in the CRC TRR 136 will be transferred here to processes with higher process dynamics. For this purpose, FE models have to be adapted and built up for the newly added process of machine hammer peening. The findings will be used by the application partner for the exemplary development of an application that allows the selection of suitable processes or process parameter combinations in mechanical surface treatment.
