Complete survey and systematical analysis of nearly 1.400 objects of medieval wooden sculpture and panel painting preserved in the numerous churches and collections of Schleswig-Holstein. For historical reasons the documentation contains the whole territory of the former two duchies including the northern part of Schleswig which belongs since 1920 to Denmark. Consequent application of modern research methods such as dendrochronology, IRR, video-endoscopy and integration of recent restoration results. Basic research instrument for further case studies, i.e. academic thesises and other scientific inquiries. Publication in 5 volumes (vol. 1 yet published in two editions, vol. 2 under print, manuscript of vol. 3 ready for print). Organisation of scientific symposia and exhibitions.
