Project Details
Access to Degradable Perfluorinated Polycarbonates by Ring-Opening Copolymerization (C07*)
Subject Area
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
since 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 387284271
Project C7N|Plajer deals with the synthesis, characterization, and degradation of perfluorinated polyesters and polycarbonates. In particular, the influence of Fluorine-Specific interactions on the polymerization mechanism as well as on material and surface properties of perfluorinated carbonates in comparison to aliphatic analogs will be investigated. The aim is to copolymerize perfluoropropylene oxide (HFPO), which is available on a large scale, with CO2 to gain direct access perfluoropolypropylene carbonate.
