Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 388390466
The new project A07(N) studies solvated surfaces to elaborate fundamental insight into the effect of solvent molecules on the reaction mechanism of alcohol (2-propanol and benzyl alcohol) and olefin (cyclohexene) oxidation on metal doped (Fe, V, Mn) Co3O4 spinels and lanthanum cobalt perovskites using a unique combination of methods. These range from investigation at the atomistic level on model catalytic surfaces using a surface science approach (IRAS, STM) to the investigation of powder catalysts under technologically relevant conditions by a detailed analysis of the steady-state kinetics in two types of flow-through reactors in the presence of gaseous solvent vapor or liquid solvents.
