Damage-induced adaptation of G protein-coupled receptor signalling (A04)

Subject Area Pharmacology
Anatomy and Physiology
Term since 2022
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 456687919

Cell damage results in altered expression of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and GPCR ligands, but how these changes affect the damage response, is largely unclear. Here we will study the role of select GPCRs and GPCR ligands that are upregulated in acutely damaged vascular cells and define their role in tissue remodelling after mechanical and ischemic damage. Furthermore, we will address the mechanisms regulating damage-induced changes in GPCR expression. These analyses will define the role of novel GPCRs and GPCR ligands in tissue remodelling and identify the underlying regulatory networks.
