Project B10 examines the extent to which armed conflicts (in the form of interstate wars, intra-state conflicts, and the Cold War) have influenced socio-political development dynamics, starting with the First World War. It captures their impact on socio-political inclusion and benefit dynamics in the areas of old-age provision, health care provision, family benefits, unemployment benefits, and veterans’ as well as war victims’ benefits. The analysis uses quantitative analysis for a large sample of countries and six detailed case studies to reconstruct specific development mechanisms.
