Project Details
The role of neutrophils in the regulation of the adaptive immunity in pemphigoid diseases (A06)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 454193335
A06 will investigate the role of neutrophils as drivers and modulators of the adaptive immune response in pemphigoid disease. It will characterize neutrophils in different organs and use the photo-convertible transgenic mouse line Kaede to understand their migration pattern in the early phase of the disease. Depletion of neutrophils and use of neutrophil-specific MHC-II knock-out mice will provide insights into their role as drivers and/or initiator of the adaptive immune response in PD. Finally, A06 will investigate the role of anaphylatoxin receptors C5aR1/2, which are essential for neutrophils in the effector phase, also in the afferent phase.
