The Water Quality Engineering (WQE) research group at TU Berlin develops and applies advanced, high-resolution individual-based and multi-species models to advance understanding of the functioning of microbial ecosystems, such as toxin-producing cyanobacteria in lakes. This proposal is for a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster for the WQE group (WQE Cluster). The hardware includes CPU nodes and the associated power and network components. It will be installed and maintained by TU Berlin as an extension to its central Linux HPC cluster (TUB Cluster). The WQE Cluster will be used primarily to support computing needs of the WQE research group, but will also be available to other TUB Cluster users when not utilized by the WQE group.
