Project Details
Probabilistic land use (B04)
Subject Area
Animal Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Animal Husbandry
Term
since 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 450058266
The project aims to improve existing maps on crop and irrigation choices. Using Bayesian statistical approaches, we merge a broad range of input data (existing land use maps, remote sensing data, official statistics, sample data) to a land use map with uncertainty information. The map will provide a consistent and complete time series for Europe with an unprecedented combination of spatial resolution and crop coverage. Moreover, the developed methodological approaches make use of data driven models and existing knowledge on land use change and farmers crop choices to combine the respective advantages.
