NOTICE (Networks of tissue responses in inflammatory diseases and cancer) will be dedicated to clinicians, who have already done scientific work and passed an onboarding program by the Medical Faculty on their way to combine science with clinics. NOTICE will thereby close an important gap links existing structures and allows to reach sustainability in the clinician scientist training portfolio at Friedrich Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg. NOTICE picks up an important, yet mechanistically still underrepresented research field. Projects in NOTICE are intended to combine immunomedicine, medical technology and data science to understand the tissue changes responsible for chronicity. Clinician scientists working in NOTICE will study the mechanism of chronic disease, i.e. how tissue responses during inflammation and cancer influence the course of the respective diseases.
