For several years, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (UAS) has operated a central Open Access publication fund to support its authors in making their research results available in Open Access. With the requested funds from the "Open Access Publication Costs" funding programme, these support structures are to be further expanded in the context of the work programme outlined above. In the years 2022 to 2024, the aim is to continue the promotion of Open Access at Bielefeld UAS, to sustainably position Open Access in important strategic discourses and fields of action at Bielefeld UAS, and to further distinguish the university as focused on and well-connected in the field of Open Access. In more detail, the goals are:1. to further expand funding of quality-assured Open Access publications by academics at Bielefeld UAS under the guiding principles of need-orientation and distributive justice 2. to improve the (university-wide) monitoring of (OA) publications and costs3. to optimise processes, frameworks and infrastructural conditions for Open Access (beyond monitoring)4. to expand and upgrade OA-related services for academic authors (advice, support, competency development, qualification), including raising awareness and motivation for OA5. to keep positioning Open Access in strategic fields of action at Bielefeld UAS6. to actively participate in projects, initiatives and networks with other partners and universities in the area of Open Access
