Applicant
Professor Dr. Alexander Kuleff
Subject Area
Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 490822104
FAUST will make a major breakthrough by studying XUV ultrafast photoionization of charged molecules, allowing to investigate the new scenario of XUV induced correlated proton-hole motion. FAUST will demonstrate how coherence, electron correlation, and many-particle effects lead to new photoinduced processes on attosecond and femtosecond timescale. While current ultrafast XUV molecular physics is limited to the study of neutral atomic or molecular species, this project will open an entirely unexplored area and offer many opportunities for further collaborations.
