The Church Library Annaberg, founded around 1560, is one of the largest church libraries in Saxony. The aim of this project is to catalog the early modern prints and the medieval fragments of manuscripts. 2.770 resources from 15th to 17th century will be catalogued and verified in the national bibliographical catalogs GW, VD16 and VD17. Besides, 150 fragments of manuscripts are to be catalogued in Manuscripta mediaevalia. The indexing of the prints will be conducted in the K10plus union catalog. Additionally, about 150 fragments of manuscripts and 400 prints are to be digitized, including the incunabula, all 16th and 17th century prints currently missing in the GW, VD16 and VD17 or not yet digitized, and particularly outstanding highlights like a sumptuous colored Schedel Chronicle of the World. The digitization will be conducted in accordance with the standards set by the German Research Foundation DFG. The digitized copies will be displayed on the web using the digitization platform of Leipzig University Library.
