Subproject A01 covers in an exemplary manner the entire process from detection of implant failure to tech-nical implant regeneration, and also highlights key characteristics of future preventive strategies. The aim is to develop an individualised and patient-friendly method for regeneration of safety-relevant implant compo-nents. By means of “condition-oriented technical regeneration”, preservation of as many prosthesis compo-nents as possible is to be favoured over a complete revision in the event of a necessary reoperation. Using the example of total knee endoprosthesis, research will focus on methods for status detection and revision path planning by means of digital implant lifecycle management (DILM).
