Project Details
Microcircuit mechanisms underlying epileptogenesis and behavioural impairment in anti-Drebrin auto-antibody mediated limbic encephalitis (D10*)
Subject Area
Experimental Models for the Understanding of Nervous System Diseases
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 227953431
Project D10 will examine key mechanisms of limbic encephalitis (LE) with anti-synaptic autoantibodies, which are increasingly recognized as a possible cause of chronic temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). The project will use behavioral assessment, chronic EEG and in-vivo imaging techniques over prolonged time periods to address morphological and functional changes in neuronal systems upon antibody exposure, and their role for behavioral impairment.
