Project Details
Design methods of ultra-slender rotor blades (B03)
Subject Area
Applied Mechanics, Statics and Dynamics
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 434502799
In the subproject B03, the focus will be on the development of design methods for ultra-slender rotor blades of very large OWTs. Due to economies of scale and higher demands on the stiffness of these structures existing methods are insufficient. Therefore, optimisation methods are to be formulated that allow new design methods and multi-material systems in structural optimisation. A further goal is the computationally efficient acquisition of geometrically non-linear cross-sectional deformations (blade breathing) within the framework of a beam formulation, which shall be used in the Digital Twin.
