Project Details
Testing the Asymmetric Response Concept in disturbed and recovering stream ecosystems: inte-grating the contributions of multi-stressor tolerance, dispersal and biotic interactions to (a)symmetry of response (A19)
Subject Area
Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Limnology, Urban Water Management, Water Chemistry, Integrated Water Resources Management
Term
since 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 426547801
A19 will address the phenomenon that succession of restored streams may not progress beyond early and mid-stages of community re-assembly. It will use mathematical models of stream com-munities and food webs to test, which ecological mechanisms differentially govern the alternative degradation and reassembly trajectories that lead either to full recovery or to the system getting locked in a depauperate state with limited levels of function.
