In the proposed project, I am going to theoretically study the near-field radiative heat transfer between two spheres in the presence of a cylindrical waveguide. Both stationary and time-dependent scenarios are planned to be investigated. In particular, I would like to demonstrate that cylindrical waveguides can increase the efficiency of the heat transfer, as well as to show how the transfer changes in time due to electromagnetic retardation and temporal interference. This research is of high practical importance for heat transport in micro- and nanoscale devices.
