This project is focused on the analysis of quantum key distribution for more than two users (also referred to as conference key agreement), with emphasis on the fact that no assumptions about the devices are made, i.e. in the so-called device-independent scenario. Our three main aims are: First, to provide a tight security analysis by analytically bounding the von Neumann entropy of the eavesdropper. Second, to uncover the essential requirements to realise a multipartite device-independent protocol, concerning both the properties of the resource states and the structure of the Bell inequalities. Third, to implement the first proof-of-principle experiment for bipartite and multipartite quantum key distribution.
