Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 286471992
The aim of this project is to develop a recording device with magnetoelectric sensors to measure the topographic position of the electrode in the brain of patients. The exact number and placement of the sensors will be determined. Scans with single sensors or small arrays of sensors will be performed initially and then extended to a whole head cap measurement. For segmented electrodes, the orientation of the electrode and the stimulated area with respect to the anatomical structures in the brain will be detected. Imaging data and the reconstructed position of the stimulated contact will be integrated, and techniques for the calculation of the stimulated field will be applied.
