Novel oncogenes in complex karyotype acute myeloid leukemia (B11*)

Project B11N will focus on the identification of novel leukemia-driving genes in complex karyotype AML (ckAML). Preliminary data is provided that a large deletion on chromosome 7q in some cases of ckAML may activate a novel oncogene, MNX1, suggesting that activation of oncogenes may be equally important as the loss of tumor suppressor function in ckAML. The identification and molecular characterization of novel oncogenic events will be the focus of this project.
