Project Details
Acclimation to fluctuating light: cyclic electron flow (B07)
Subject Area
Plant Physiology
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 270050988
PGR5 is essential for cyclic electron flow (CEF) and plant survival under fluctuating light, while PGRL1 channels PGR5 activity and PGRL2 induces PGR5 degradation. Our project aims to elucidate the functional relationships between these three proteins and to identify other proteins in the network that regulate CEF. To achieve this, we will investigate the functions of suppressor mutations discovered in the two previous suppressor screens of pgr5 and pgrl1 mutants. We will also use two novel suppressor screens to identify additional factors involved in PGR5 degradation and activity channeling.
