Project Details
Phonon-driven control of electronic properties in hybrid perovskites and organic charge-transfer salts (B07+)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2020 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 422213477
The project B07 (Kim/Bonn) studies selective lattice deformations to control phase transitions and collective electronic properties. Selectivity is achieved by exciting optically active phonons using resonant light pulses in the terahertz spectral range. For two model systems exhibiting strong electron-phonon coupling, hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites and molecule-based charge-transfer salts, we aim to induce structural phase transition by manipulating a single phonon mode and to understand how the ferroelectric order is coupled to phonons.
