Project Details
Biomimetic, highly branched 3D textile reinforcement structures based on self-supporting technology approach (B01)
Subject Area
Lightweight Construction, Textile Technology
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 417002380
The second funding period focuses on biomimetic branched 3D-topologies to enhance material efficiency in construction. New manufacturing methods involving cooperative robotic systems and fast-curing material combinations, such as carbon fibers with photopolymers, are being developed. The goal is to create self-supporting free-form textile structures, reducing the need for numerous supporting points in autonomous robot-assisted 3D yarn deposition. Therefore, a novel design and trajectory planning methodology, utilizing meta-heuristic algorithms in combination with reinforcement learning techniques and camera-based process control for adaptive path planning, will be implemented.
