The central goal of this project is to employ concepts from quantum information theory to improve our understanding of non-equilibrium dynamics of in continuous quantum systems described by quantum fields. Entropic uncertainty relations are a promising starting point as they allow to derive an experimentally accessible lower bound on entanglement entropy which plays a crucial role for the thermalization of closed quantum systems. We will experimentally measure entanglement bounds based on entropic uncertainty relations and develop the field theoretical formalism for their quantum field theoretic description.
