The project aims in creating 2D functional polymeric materials by converting 1D CPs into 2DMs which will result in materials that combine features of 2D COFs and MOFs in a unique way. Linkers with additional functions will be integrated by a second type of (dynamic) bonding. It is expected to achieve by that approach a specific ordered 2D arrangement of donor(D)-acceptor(A) moieties, resulting in unprecedented optoelectronic properties e.g., high luminescence, due to electronic interaction of the 1D part with the linker moieties. In addition, the incorporation of redox active and ion conductive units will allow to explore specific catalytic effects and combination of electronic and ionic conductance.
