Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 437101278
The research groups Inorganic Chemistry (Prof. Lang), Coordination Chemistry (Prof. Mehring), Chemical Technology (Prof. Stöwe) at Chemnitz University of Technology have consolidated to an interest group on the topic of sustainable ground and waste water economy and syntonized their mutual interest with a regional leading municipal energy supplier. Objectives are the development of new waste water treatment methods for removal of micro-contaminations as Endocrinic Disruptive Compounds (EDCs), pesticides and pharmaceuticals from municipal waste water via different methods as photocatalytic mineralisation or electrochemical precipitation. For the trace and ultra-trace analysis of contaminants in aqueous media, determination of decomposition products and mechanisms of these compounds a liquid-chromatographic separation method on the basis of an UHPLC with coupled triple-quadrupol mass spectrometry is required. Additionally, the system will be used in cooperation with other TUC groups (Prof. Kataev) for the analysis of products distributions in supramolecular and catalytic reactions, purity determinations as well as kinetic and mechanistic investigations of the reaction progress in the formation of organic product components.
