Project Details
Multidimensional characterisation of nanoparticle ensembles (C04)
Subject Area
Mechanical Process Engineering
Term
since 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 416229255
The objective of C04 is the multidimensional characterisation of particle ensembles using a strong set of sedi-mentation techniques. We will target new and further enhanced methodologies, including related distributions of size, composition, anisotropy, spectral properties and quantum yields. A focus will be on high-throughput multi-wavelength analysis to identify structure-property and process-structure relations for nanoparticles and defined assemblies. Global data analysis techniques for the different detection systems of analytical ultracentrifugation (extinction, emission, interference) will be developed, while considering robustness and uncertainties, multimodal systems as well as complementary diffusion data and 3D particle characteristics from electron tomography.
