Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin is applying for further financial support for its publication fund set up in 2018 to promote open access in accordance with DFG funding conditions as the standard for publishing. The fund is a key tool in open access activities at the Charité and is managed by the Charité Medical Library. The library handles consultation with authors, processing of applications, management of funds, negotiation of publisher agreements and development of a service for the green route to open access. The Charité Medical Library is taking measures to further develop IT-based, legally-compliant procedures which will reduce bureaucracy in funding open access publications, monitoring costs and optimizing user-oriented services.
