Project Details
Elucidating protein-RNA interactions in circRNA biogenesis and function (A01)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
from 2019 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 403584255
Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are generated by backsplicing and are abundantly expressed in many human tissues, yet their contribution to physiology and disease remains largely unknown. The aim of this project is to identify and characterise circRNA biogenesis and functions in endothelial cells. Specifically, we will study the function and mechanism of action of the previously identified circRNA cZNF292 and elucidate the regulation of circRNA biogenesis by combining bioinformatics with biochemical approaches and physiological assays.
