Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 257899354
We link visualization and meteorological research and investigate new visual analysis techniques for mete-orological W2W projects that target 3D features and their mutual relation, ensemble variability, and relation to predictability. Feature-centric interactive 3D visualization will facilitate analysis of atmospheric dynamics of individual cases, and metrics based on matched and tracked features and their relations will extend the approach to ensembles. All techniques will be synthesized into a comprehensive framework to facilitate fea-ture based characterization of ensemble variability that can subsequently be linked to predictability.
