Experimental and Theoretical Physics of Polymers
Term
from 2019 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 189853844
The project focusses on crystallization and dynamics of reversible association in polymeric molecules under the constraints of solitude and individual spatial confinement. Key questions are which minimum length individualized chains must have to crystallize and how the formation of loops at the crystallite edges constrains this process. Additionally, the impact of solid boundaries on such systems will be investigated. Finally, the association dynamics of hydrogen-bonding functional groups in individualized polymers will be addressed.
