The molecular ordering of reversibly aggregating parathyroid hormone conjugated to switchable synthetic polymers will be investigated. Amyloid assembly will be modulated by the switchable polymer upon external stimuli including temperature, solvent and light. Both, the protein and polymer entity will influence the properties of the hybrid partner allowing conformational studies and mechanistic insights into the assembly mechanism. These hybrid molecules harbor a wealth of physico-chemical properties, which we aim to understand based on fundamental principles.
