Project Details
Molecular basis of plant susceptibility mediated by microbe-derived vesicles (B15*)
Subject Area
Organismic Interactions, Chemical Ecology and Microbiomes of Plant Systems
Term
from 2019 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 170483403
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are important structures in bacterial virulence. Yet, their role in the infection of plants by disease-causing phytopathogens is not understood. This project will evaluate the process by which microbe-derived EVs induce plant susceptibility and identify the role of host target genes of vesicle cargoes for the outcome of plant immunity. At its completion, this project will lead to new insights into the mechanisms leading to plant susceptibility.
