Project Details
Nucleokinesis in leukocyte trafficking (A12*)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
from 2019 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 165054336
Nuclear movement (nucleokinesis) to non-random intracellular positions is critical for cellular functions, and nucleokinesis failure is linked to human disease. However, how fast migratory cells such as leukocytes position their nucleus during trafficking is largely enigmatic. To tackle this research question, we will employ a multi-disciplinary approach, combining single-cell imaging, bioengineering, unbiased system-wide experimentation, and in vivo models for leukocyte trafficking. Thereby, this project will elucidate the molecular factors and cell biological principles of nucleokinesis in leukocyte trafficking and their involvement in homeostasis and Inflammation.
