The project focusses on the investigation of graffiti on Roman gold coins. By sighting, describing, and deciphering of Graffiti on numismatic collections with verifiable provenance they are to be subjected to a praxeologically oriented artefact analysis and systematically recorded in a database. The main focus is on image-text interactions recognizable on numismatic objects, as well as detectable forms of perception of writing and the reconstruction of the intention of graffiti on Roman coins.
