Project Details
Human-Machine Interaction with Adaptable Multisensory Systems (C05)
Subject Area
Cognitive, Systems and Behavioural Neurobiology
Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 251654672
Our main goal is to quantify the complex interaction between user and user adaptable system, in order to provide guidelines, evaluation criteria, and recommendations for the design of such technology. In particular, we consider the case of visual-auditory adaptive systems. Using behavioral and computational approaches, we intend to conduct different experiments to understand the dynamics of auditory and visual spatial perception, in order to model interaction with multisensory systems in mutual adaptive contexts. We will then consider different use-case scenarios of such systems, such as navigation applications in virtual and augmented environments, and sonification-enhanced visualizations.
