The DRESDEN-concept Genome Center of the TU Dresden is a central unit for carrying out experiments on the basis of high-throughput sequencing (NGS), which is used extensively by the scientific groups on campus. In order to quickly advance the developments and projects planned by the groups and at the Genome Center, a significant increase of the local sequencing capacity is necessary. In addition, the device will be used extensively for our work as DFG NGS Competence Center. This also includes own developments such as algorithms for high-quality genome assembly or methods for efficient multidimensional single cell analysis. By strengthening the sequencing capacity, more throughput-intensive applications such as genome-wide bisulfite sequencing, HiC sequencing, the use of linked read sequencing and large single cell studies in Dresden will also be possible in the future. This requires a system that is extremely scalable in terms of throughput and enables high-quality and cost-efficient analysis of medium to large studies.
