Integrin-subtype-specific organization and force transduction (A12)

This project will investigate how the two major integrin-based adhesion complexes of epithelia, focal adhesions and hemidesmosomes, respond to mechanical signals on molecular force and length scales. Experiments will utilize recently developed technologies including tension sensor imaging, single-molecule localization microscopy and molecular Optomechanics.
