Isokinet with simultaneous joint angle detection

Subject Area Medicine
Term Funded in 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 422385537

The main research topic of the motion- and exercise science group at the University of Stuttgart is the experimental examination and modelling of musculoskeletal systems. A key aspect of the research is the transfer of knowledge from the microstructural level (e.g. muscle fibres) to more complex muscle skeletal systems and the development of realistic human models. The development and validation of these models requires force measurements on human beings. Furthermore, force measurements during several movement tasks are necessary to better understand neuromuscular control of movement, for determination of muscle properties, as well as for analysis of muscle adaptation due to aging, training, or illness. In movement science, the usage of isokinetic systems with simultaneous joint angle detection has been established.
