Project Details
Photocatalyst Luminescence Quenching as a Tool for Investigating Hydrogen Bonding and Lewis Acid-Induced C-F Bond Activation (A02)
Subject Area
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2019 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 387284271
In this project, the influence of Fluorine-Specific hydrogen-bonding or Lewis acid interactions on photoredox-induced C-F bond activation is investigated. The strength of these Fluorine-Specific Interactions will be evaluated and quantified by measuring the quenching of photocatalysts in the presence of various H-bond donors and Lewis acids via luminescence spectroscopy. The data obtained will be then used to assist the development of new synthetically-useful defluorinative transformations of organofluorine compounds.
