Control of C-F-Bond Activation and Fluorination Reactions through Fluorine-Specific Interactions in the Coordination Sphere of Metal Compounds (A01)
Subject Area

Term
since 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 387284271
Project A1|Braun applies Fluorine-Specific interactions to establish metal-mediated dehydrofluorination and hy-drofluorination reactions. In the proposed dehydrofluorination reactions, germylium ion-based catalysts trans-form fluorinated alkanes with germanes into alkenes, fluorogermanes, and H2. The formed fluorogermanes can be further transformed in HF and used in consecutive Pt-catalyzed hydrofluorination reactions of alkynes.
